Post Best crafting material for Monk Armor?

As a Monk/Warrior in Post Searing I have purchased the initial Ascalon City armor, but I know there is better to be had (including all Tattoos, which looks so cool).

So what is the material that I should be looking for to have it when I come to a higher level armorer?

Is it Cloth, Silk, Leather, Bone, Shell, or Fur???? Can't be Iron or Steel??

I do love those Divine Tattoos, though. Probably cost 5 Plats apiece

gwonline.net has a pretty good list of what armor is available in each town.

I kept my ascalon armor until I reached Bergen Springs. At that time, I bought the best tattoo armor available in that town (39 AL, lots of energy storage). The other available armor in Bergen Springs gives more protections, but doesn't provide you with as much energy storage.

Of course, choosing what to collect can be difficult, unless you decide now which armor to save for. I chose the tattoo armor, which meant that I needed 240 wood, 960g (to convert the wood to parchment), and 8 feathers. The feathers are easy, since you start getting drops of 5+ feathers once you start fighting the Tengu in Kryta. The hard part is the wood. The crafting cost is 150g per item, if I remember correctly.

Currently, I'm working on Ascension, and have already started saving for my 3rd suit of armor (available at Droknor's Forge, after ascension). I'm going for tattoos again, but this time, I need 875 wood!

You'll want parchment and feathers most likely.

As Uig said, you'll need a forest worth of wood, quite a few feathers, and lots of cash. For example, the dragnor's 1.5k chest piece is 60ac +8eng and it requires 75 parchment. That's 375 wood for the chest alone!

Oh! That's why you see folks with "WTB Wood. Bring the forest!" messages.
